i am reading this over my coffee this morning with tears in my eyes.

i can only imagine it took a lot of courage to write this and send it out into the world, and i wanted to acknowledge that courage.

it’s beautifully, clearly and passionately written and a job well done and a very helpful resource and piece of storytelling. i’ll be forwarding it and using it as a reference.

thank you so much for the effort and grief and study invested in putting it together.

may peace, freedom and love prevail ❤️‍🔥

I just wanted to thank you for writing this piece dear Gabriela - I love that you did. Everybody needs to know the truth - what is really going on in Palestine.

Your views and feelings echo mine, and I was brought to tears while reading them - I've been trying to remain detached and not let what's going on affect me, because I feel so impotent, so powerless, and so filled with rage. I went to the West Bank when I was 25, as I was working there with Oxfam - I saw some of the horrors too, and I couldn't forget them. As a pro-Palestinian anti-Zionist I've been called an anti-Semite too, to be silenced...

Thank you for sharing your words and experience. I'm so glad that so many people will read them, and share them.

With love & gratitude ♥️🙏

I agree completely with your narrative. Having also spent time in Palestine as a film maker and having seen first hand the daily humiliations and deprivations its people have been subjected to for decades, it was bound to explode sometime. The tragedy is both the brutality of that explosion and the subsequent unbearably brutal retaliation by the Israeli security forces. And now the very future of more than two million Palestinians is the balance with untold suffering of innocent women and children. My heart also breaks.

Thank you for sharing your personal experiences and insights into this troubled part of the world. I didn’t know that much about it all, as you say I feel our media in the west has been complicit in spinning a narrative that ‘others’ the Palestinian. Your insights have filled in the grey areas about bought the present into sharp focus. There are no winners here, just immense infuriating pointless destruction of humanity. My heart breaks for this kind of expression of our worst shadow. Much love to you 🙏❤️

Thank you for being a sister pro-human! as an historian, I am aware of how Britain was involved in the suppression of Palestinian villages: the spoken testimony of several British policemen in Palestine is on file at the Imperial War Museum, should anyone wish to check this. (It is not a pretty story). My own background is both British and Irish, so I understand lengthy historic conflict. Retaliatory actions dehumanise people as well as killing them. Tribal conflicts can be avoided when everyone has a voice, and humane solutions can be considered: that means sitting down and talking together. But when this doesn't happen, extremism and terrorism result, because frustration and despair can no longer be endured. May we all become better humans so that fellow humans may live in peace!
