Ritual Prompts

Following the Wheel of the Year

These prompts invite you into deeper connection with the natural world, the turning seasons, and the cyclical nature of life. Rooted in the Celtic and Celtic-Iberian wheel of the year, they draw on my research into ancient ritual practices and living earth-honouring traditions, reimagined in ways accessible to modern life.

The prompts will be shared at the eight key thresholds of the year — solstices, equinoxes, and the cross-quarter days — moments long regarded as potent across cultures. Samhain’s ancestor rites, the Spring Equinox as Persian New Year, or the Solstice sun rising over Stonehenge and Chichen Itza all remind us that these rhythms are universal.

Each offering includes not only a seasonal practice but also myths, stories, and folklore connected to the deities and archetypes of the time. My aim is to nurture simple, sincere ways of meeting the sacred directly — cultivating our own relationship with the more-than-human world.

Suggestion for each ritual:

Create a simple altar with symbols of the season. Whenever possible, let these be natural objects gathered respectfully from the land on your walks, to be returned with gratitude after the ritual.

Prayer Pot:

With each ritual prompt, I will prepare a prayer pot, placing inside the names of all who wish to be included. This pot will sit with my hive—or at a sacred site if I am traveling—so that your prayers are held and strengthened in the ritual space. If you’d like to be included, simply comment with your name on that season’s post (and, if you wish, share where in the world you are joining from).
