First off, I just want to say thank you for your patience in July. I took the month off Substack to hone in on writing my book, and it really paid off! I got a lot done. I’d hoped to send this piece out whilst I was still in Sulawesi. But my internet access was so limited and my days so full that I haven’t got round to finishing and recording it until now. As I put together my notes from my field trip in Indonesia for my next entries, here are some reflections during my trip.
